Preschool Earthquake and Tsunami Safety Education Program

 The primary objective of the English-version of the Preschool Safety Program is to teach young children how, when, and where to do the life-saving "Drop, Cover and Hold" technique to protect themselves during a variety of disasters. As a result, the young children will learn age-appropropriate skills through various fun, non-alarming activities including role-playing, songs, rhymes, Sight and Sound Match Game with accompanying CD, and Rabbit's Shaky Day story booklet. Age-appropriate lessons and Rabbit Goes to the Beach story booklet teach how a tsunami is generated, and the need to immediately evacuate to high ground if a tsunami is on the way.

Childcare providers benefit from numerous sample letters, forms, and masters for reproducing disaster preparedness materials that can be sent home to help educate parents on this important safety issue.
